Interactive Theatre in education
Hyperfusion production

HyperFusion specialises in interactive theatre which educates, empowers, challenges and stimulates discussion.

Why choose interactive theatre?

Our shows aren't like traditional theatre where you just watch but powerful, heavily interactive, energetic and impactual experiences offering a forum where voices are not only heard but celebrated. No more passive audiences - ours are engaged, lively and relevant to the direction of the piece.

Who do we work with?

We have successfully implemented theatre shows in over 60 schools/ organisations in Essex and Herts. These range from mainstream schools, special needs schools, pupil referral units, organisations working specifically with disengaged young people, adult centres, refuges, women's groups, councils and general public.

What is interactive theatre?

Using traditional forum theatre techniques amongst other theatre-in-education devises each piece takes the audience on a journey of issues, behavioural choices and dilemmas that result in an explosion of conflict. This is where the audience steps in as they actively explore windows of intervention with a view to empowering them to consider what to really do if they find themselves or someone they know in a situation they need to deal with. The audience become the characters either by being their brain or stepping in and it is here that the learning curve is at its strongest as they negotiate their way through a 'rehearsal for life' in a safe atmosphere.

  • Create a safe environment that allows the audience to examine their beliefs and challenge perceptions leading to educated decisions that can be translated into the real world.
  • Give the audience the chance to make informed choices to ensure they feel empowered to challenge and change their own reality.
  • Create positive challenges instead of negative enforcements to empower the audience to grow.
  • Motivate learning by ensuring the audience experience and explore issues in a 'real life' context with 'people' that they recognise and can relate to enabling effective and sensitive exploration of citizenship and life issues.
  • Empower and inspire the audience to be active and not passive in their future.
